FritzRoy Airlines was founded in 1989. The airline opened in 1995 at Orlando International Airport. In 2011, the airline moved all operations to Orlando Sanford Airport. T. Ron Fritz and Monty Roy founded the airline, giving it the name Fritz-Roy Airlines. The airline is scheduled to merge with Zip! Airlines in 2016. T. Ron Fritz and Monty Roy sold the airline to the ZipTo Group in 2006. The idea of the airline was for it to become florida's flag carrier. The airline will merge into Zip! Airlines in July 2016.

On January 27, 1998, the Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner overran the runway at Jacksonville Airport. The flight was coming in from Orlando Sanford Airport. There was 1 minor injury.
